this is a true werewolf story

This is a true story. I was there to witness part of what happened. The first part comes from my ex-wife. The latter part comes from myself. It will be clear who witnessed what. There is no embelishment in this story.

We lived on an old farm and were raising chickens, 2 geese, a beef cow, 12 cats , a dog and 3 sons. It was a warm evening in late July 1980. The moon was full. We had the windows open and the shades down. I was tired and went to bed about 10 PM. My wife stayed up later to watch a television program. At 11 PM, her program was over and she decided to go to bed. She said that she went into our bedroom and felt that the room was "darker than it should have been". She felt that the darkness almost had substance and decided to stay up longer and watch the news, finally going to bed about 11:30.

She was laying in bed trying to sleep...not really awake but not really asleep when she heard a dog growl. In those times, we occasionally had trouble with dogs or foxes and I would have to go outside to chase them away by firing a shot or two. She woke up and lay in bed listening to see if there was trouble outside that she would have to wake me up for. Our dog was inside. She lay awake listening and heard the growling again. She thought that it was clearly a large dog. She said that the growl came again and then she realized that the sound was not coming from outside, but was inside.

She heard another growl and said that I got up and sat up on the bed on haunches like a dog and that I growled again. She swears that my eyes glowed in the dark and that my lips were pulled back exposing my teeth. She says that I came foward towards her walking on all fours, like a dog not on hands and knees like a person would, continuing to growl. She said that no growl like I made could ever come from a person. She truly belived that I was going to tear her apart with my teeth and hopped out of bed into the corner. She was trapped and screamed. She says that I stopped and sat back on my haunches and that my eyes stopped glowing. She reached over, touched my cheek and asked if I was alright. Then she went to see if her scream had woken up our boys.

I do remember that she touched my cheek and asked if I was alright. Before that, I was aware that my throat hurt a lot and felt sort of torn inside. I also remember this exact phrase running through my mind: "Lets go see Sam". Sam was my ex-wifes nickname. Notice that "lets" is plural! I felt that something was in my mind with me. Something stronger than myself and it was in charge.

A few days later, one of our neighborhood teenagers came over to visit. He asked if we noticed an animal prowling around a few nights before. I asked what had happened. He told me that about midnight, he had heard an animal large enough to hear their foot steps running in their neighborhood. He said that it was obviously large and 2 legged and ran both on their road and in yards. His dog had been going nuts and wanted out to chase the animal. When the door was opened, the dog wimpered, ran back into the house and would not go out.

I have thought about what happened. I feel like I was in psychic connection with a real werewolf. I believe that there was an offer to join the pack being made...that if I had ripped my wife apart with my teeth, that I would become a werewolf. I would become one with the pack. Was it a "once in a lifetime offer"? Nothing like that has happened to me since, so I guess so.

Just in case you think that "American Werewolf in London" was a factor in this event, this happened about a year before the movie was released(1981). My wife and I did see the movie and I know that we had a different viewpoint than anyone else in the theater. I would like to assure you again that this was a true story with no embelishments.

I hope this has informed and entertained my subjects. emperorcrackerthe pious@fastmail.fm
